This is not your old fashioned scavenger hunt but a new exciting twist to an old idea. By using the resources of Funcontests.ca the host can create a custom game quickly and easily in less than an hour. It can be used for birthdays, corporate team building, family reunions or any time that you want people to spend some time together and having a great time. All you need is a reason to play, an idea, some imagination and a smartphone with a QR code reader/scanner for each group.

What makes this different from the several thousand other hunts you found during your internet search?

What makes us different is you will be using QR codes and your smart phone to navigate through the game. Your host will have done a little work and using our template created a set of QR codes that will be posted in the various locations. When the team has followed the clue and gotten to the correct location they need to find the next code that will provide the next clue.

How it works

The host will have to make a few decisions

• Does the game have a theme?

• General location. This could be a museum, school, neighborhood, park, mall or a city to name a few. Later you will need to identify the specific locations that you will place each clue.

• How many participants or teams. In the early planning stages you only need to have an estimate.

• Do the teams need to find an item, take a picture at each location or just being able to navigate the game; proof enough they got to each spot.

• Once you have decided on your locations and clues you will enter the clues into the user friendly, templated screens and we will in moments generate your test codes, location codes, team user information package and the host package. It really is that easy.

How to Play

Your host will give you a starting location and your first clue which is in the form a QR code. You scan the code, decipher the clue and find the destination. Your host may have you pick up an article or take a picture at the location. Read carefully as your host may be tricky. The only limits are your host ‘s imagination and the law.

The teams may start at the same location and leave at intervals or have different start points and have everyone start at once. Again it depends on what your host wants to do – see how every game could be different every time?
